The Primary Water Supply Service Line

The primary water supply line transports water from the property line into your home or building. Accessible only to the property owner, the primary water shut off valve is located at the primary service lines entry point into the building and can be used to turnoff water flow throughout the household or building. The main water supply line is divided into cold water and hot water systems. A portion of water entering a building will be redirected to flow into a hot water tank that is heated using natural gas or electricity, and supplies hot water throughout the household and building.
