A manual meter check can be helpful during a power or internet outage or after plumbing repairs.

To check:

1. Turn off all water fixtures and appliances.
2. Record the meter reading.
3. Wait about 20 minutes without using water.
4. If the dial or reading changes, water is flowing and a leak may be present.
