Fix a Leak Week and World Water Day
Fix a Leak Week
Fix A Leak Week is a campaign, sponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s WaterSense® program, that takes place during the third week of March!
All across North America, municipalities are hunting down leaks and searching for solutions to water loss, to increase awareness of the billions of gallons of water leaked annually nationwide.
Finding Water Leaks on Your Property
The City of Greater Sudbury’s Advanced Metering Infrastructure AMI Water Meters track water use in real time and help you detect leaks early and manage consumption more effectively. Sign up at myaccount.gsuinc.ca to access your water usage.
If You Suspect a Leak
Inspect your home for running water and repair leaks promptly to prevent high bills or property damage. Regular monitoring, especially in colder months, can help catch issues early.
World Water Day
Every year since 1993, on March 22, World Water Day raises awareness about the importance of clean water and taking action against the global water crisis that leaves 2.2 billion people living without access to safe water.
As climate change impacts increase, and populations grow, there is an urgent need, within and between countries, to unite around protecting and conserving our most precious resource.
This World Water Day, we all need to unite around water and use water for peace, laying the foundations of a more stable and prosperous tomorrow.
