1. Raw Sewage is Filtered Through Trash Racks and Bar Screens
- Trach racks and Bar screens are used to prevent items, such as “flushable wipes,” tampons, and larger inorganics from entering the plant & damaging costly machinery like pumps. This material is called waste rags.
- Waste rags are collected in a waste bin to then be transported to the landfill for disposal.
