Road Closure for Culvert Replacement and Watermain Improvements
The City of Greater Sudbury will be continuing a road culvert replacement and watermain improvements on Brabant Street, 250 metres south of St. Agnes Street. A road closure on a section of Brabant Street is required to complete the work in a safe and efficient manner.
Construction by the City’s contractor, Dominion Construction will begin in August and is expected to be completed by September 2026.
Work will typically take place during daylight hours Monday to Friday.

Construction Details:
- The existing culvert will be replaced to improve drainage and stormwater flow.
- Sections of watermain will be replaced to enhance water quality and system reliability.
- Limited and full road closure of Brabant Street is planned at the location of the culvert replacement for a maximum of three weeks. The contractor will install signage in advance of the date the road closure will occur.
- A detour is required and will follow Laurier Street West to Paul Street. The road will remain open to locate traffic and emergency vehicles at all times.
- After drainage and watermain work is complete, the roadway will be restored.
