Culvert Replacements and Road Closure
Construction Notice- April 8, 2024
The City of Greater Sudbury will be replacing a culvert on Kantola Road, near Mikkola Road, in Lively. A road closure on a section of Kantola Road is required to complete the work in a safe and efficient manner.
Construction by the City’s Contractor, Garson Pipe Contractors Ltd. will begin mid-April 2024 and is expected to be completed by June 2024.
Work will typically take place during daylight hours Monday to Friday.

Project Highlights:
- Culvert replacement and drainage improvements.
- Road restoration including guide rail replacement and asphalt.
- Limited and full road closure of Kantola Road is planned at the location of the culvert replacement for a maximum of two weeks. The contractor will install signage in advance of the date the road closure will occur.
- A detour is required and will follow Finnwoods to Moxam Landing Roads as shown on the map below. The road will remain open to local traffic and emergency vehicles at all times.
