Rules and Etiquette

  • GOVA Zone drivers are not permitted to wait at destinations after customers have been dropped off. Customers requiring a return trip must book a return GOVA Zone trip in advance, or connect with the next available scheduled GOVA Zone service.
  • GOVA Zone rides are intended to connect customers to and from the conventional GOVA bus network, where fare payment is required. Customers using GOVA Zone service are expected to continue their trip on the conventional GOVA bus at the Local Mobility Hub and pay the applicable fare. Misuse of GOVA Zone service, including repeatedly failing to board the conventional bus connection, may result in suspension of GOVA Zone service privileges.
  • Space available on GOVA Zone vehicles may differ from conventional GOVA buses.
  • Large items, baggage, strollers, walkers, and other personal belongings may only be accommodated if they can be transported safely within the vehicle.
  • Customers travelling with large items should advise staff of their accommodation requirements when booking. If there is insufficient space to safely accommodate your belongings, you may be required to wait for the next available scheduled ride. If a customer or their belongings cannot be safely accommodated in a GOVA Zone vehicle, the trip may not be provided.
  • Dangerous items or materials are not permitted on any GOVA Transit vehicle, including GOVA Zone vehicles. For a list of prohibited items, please refer to the Dangerous Items or Materials page: https://www.greatersudbury.ca/live/transit/riding-gova-transit/bus-rules-and-etiquette/dangerous-items-or-materials/
  • Bicycles cannot currently be accommodated on GOVA Zone vehicles.
  • Customers must follow all GOVA Transit Rules and Etiquette while using the service.
