Recycling is difficult and confusing!
Residential and non-residential roadside waste collection services will be rescheduled. Please do not place garbage, green carts or blue boxes at the roadside, as this may impact road clearing efforts. Alternate pickup dates will be communicated once available. We will provide an update once bulky item collection service has been restored.
Due to the winter storm event, furniture, appliance and electronic collection services are also temporarily suspended. Please do not place these items at the roadside, in laneways or on top of snowbanks, as they may impact snow clearing operations.
New Green Cart requests have also been suspended.
All landfill sites and the Recycling Centre are closed.
There have been many changes to products and packaging over the years and we understand the confusion. This is one of the reasons that the Waste Wise searchable tool was created. The tool allows you to search a particular item and then it tells you what container to place it in or whether it requires special disposal. You can access Waste Wise online on the City’s website or download the Greater Sudbury Waste Wise app. If you’re not fond of computers, just call City Services at 311.
