What if my camp is within the 30 m setback and I want to put an addition on it?

The Zoning By-law contains provisions that allow for reconstruction, enlargement, repair and renovation. In certain instances a minor variance may be required, in other instances it may not. If your camp or dwelling is located within the required setback AND the addition is partially or wholly within the setback a minor variance will be required. Proposals will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis by staff, and recommendation for approval may depend on site characteristics, such as size and layout (example, irregularly shaped lot), whether constraints exist that prevent building in compliance with the zoning by-law, etc.
