• Some lake trout in the north can live up to 50 years.
• Lake trout live in deep, cold lakes that carry lots of oxygen.
• At least 32 lakes in Greater Sudbury are known to support lake trout.

HOW REGREENING HELPS THIS SPECIES

• Lake trout were lost in many local lakes due to lake acidification. Reductions in acid rain and the regreening of watersheds have allowed these fish to recolonize some of their former lakes.
