Hands-Only CPR
In an effort to improve survival rates for cardiac arrest victims, the City of Greater Sudbury with the Heart and Stroke Foundation offers free Hands-Only CPR sessions to residents. Hands-Only CPR involves providing high quality chest compressions without the use of mouth-to-mouth.
Facts from the Heart and Stroke Foundation:
- Eight in 10 sudden cardiac arrest incidents occur in public places.
- The majority of people witnessing cardiac arrest do not perform CPR.
- Knowing how to respond to a cardiac arrest can increase the odds of a person’s survival and recovery by 30 per cent or more.
