Three unique chair-based exercise programs led by a Registered Nurse and Certified Personal and Older Adult training specialist
Programs offered live and archived on their website. Also offered in French.
Basic Class: 45 minute program suitable for anyone. Mainly resistance training with a little cardio. Most challenging of the three levels.
Gentle Level: 30 minute strengthening and stretching program using your own bodyweight or with added exercise band. Suitable for older adults and people with mobility aids.
Yoga Class: 30 minute program of relaxing, simple, chair based yoga movements, suitable for older adults of all abilities.
Keep Fit With Finlandia
Finlandia Village has a fitness centre open to all older adults ages 55 plus for group classes, cardio and weight lifting equipment, pre-op joint replacement exercise classes, post-op joint replacement rehab, Trail Trekkers outdoor walking and more.
Since the closure of the fitness centre due to COVID-19, Keep Fit With Finlandia has been airing on YouTube. Keep Fit features exercise classes previously offered at the fitness centre and new exercise created for homebound seniors. There are also educational videos with Physio Jo’s Health Info.
