Animal Shelter Policies
- Under provincial legislation, dogs and cats must remain in the care of the shelter for a minimum of three days, not counting the day of admission or holidays, before an assessment is made for suitability for adoption.
- Euthanasia is not performed by staff at the Greater Sudbury Animal Shelter. Animals with serious injuries, illness or behavioral issues are assessed by a local veterinarian and may be euthanized for humane reasons upon recommendation of the vet.
