What if I only need to make a small or minor change to the Zoning By-law?
In cases where the change to the by-law is considered minor, a minor variance application can be made. These applications are considered by the Committee of Adjustment.
Examples include: increases to the maximum height of a building, reducing setbacks from property lines or reductions in parking required.
If a proposed use is not permitted in the zone for a property, or if the standards of that zone cannot be met by a proposed development, a zoning by-law amendment may be required.
