Abuse
Abuse involves conduct that a reasonable person would consider improper, excessive, inappropriate, or inconsistent with sound business practices.
Examples include:
- Conflict of interest;
- Seeking or accepting gifts, benefits, or other items of value from vendors, consultants, or contractors doing business with the City;
- Bribery;
- Nepotism;
- Unauthorized access to confidential, privileged, or personal information;
- Improper employee conduct;
- Misuse of authority or position for personal benefit or the benefit of a family member or associate.
