Description

I created this map after attending a hands-on tutorial by Mita Williams, lead of Open Data Windsor Essex, at Digital Odyssey 2015. Mita led us through the process of creating maps using a variety of free tools, and I found the CartoDB platform was particularly fast and easy to work with. It delivers a responsive website that works well on desktop and mobile devices, and it took me about fifteen minutes to merge the City of Greater Sudbury's Recreation dataset with CartoDB to create this map.

This map uses static location data, so you can zoom in and out and pan around to get a quick idea of where various types of recreational facilities are located in the city.
