Older Adults Encouraged to Stay Active, Creative and Connected with New, Free Program

Sep 29, 2026

The City of Greater Sudbury is piloting a free virtual recreation, wellness and arts-based program for residents aged 55 and older.

Launching on October 1, National Seniors Day, and running for a year, the Art Your Service initiative gives older adults access to engaging online activities designed to support healthy aging, creativity, lifelong learning and social connection, all from the comfort of home.

Through Art Your Service, participants can enjoy a variety of virtual programs throughout the year. There are live classes every week, in fitness, wellness, arts and social connection (i.e., trivia activities, guided meditation, music classes). The goal is to help older adults stay active and engaged while reducing barriers to participation.

Registration is free and easy – residents aged 55+ can sign up online or by calling 311.

The City is committed to providing inclusive and accessible programs that support residents at every stage of life. To learn more about services and supports available to older adults, visit: www.greatersudbury.ca/live/older-adult-services/
