The Best Gift for Your Pet: 2021 Dog and Cat Licences Now Available

Dec 14, 2020

An up-to-date dog or cat licence is the best gift you can purchase for your furry friend.

One-year, three- year and lifetime pet licences provide peace of mind with the following benefits:

  • Less worry when a pet is lost. People are more likely to approach a stray dog or cat if it is wearing a tag and Animal Shelter staff can contact the owner immediately.
  • One free ride home the first time a stray dog or cat is picked up by Greater Sudbury By-law Compliance and Enforcement. The pet will not be brought to the Animal Shelter if arrangements can be made to meet the owner at home.
  • Knowing what has happened to your pet. Greater Sudbury Animal Shelter will contact owners of deceased pets identified with a licence.

Dogs and cats must have a licence at 12 weeks of age. Residents can purchase pet licences online, at any Greater Sudbury Public Library or Citizen Service Centre, and at participating pet stores and veterinary clinics.

More information and online pet licences are available at www.greatersudbury.ca/pets.
