Overnight Parking By-law Enforcement Suspended on Key Holiday Dates

City Council has approved an amendment to the Parking By-law 2010-1 to allow vehicles to park on local roadways and in municipal parking lots overnight on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. 

The change is a result of a resolution brought forward by Greater Sudbury Mayor Brian Bigger and endorsed by City Council at their December 11 meeting as an initiative to prevent impaired driving. Residents are asked to be mindful of any snow removal requirements on these nights.

The by-law has been amended to allow parking from 12:01 a.m. to 7 a.m. on December 25 (Christmas Day), December 26 (Boxing Day) and January 1 (New Year’s Day) of each year.
