Celebrate Bike Month in Greater Sudbury

Jun 26, 2018

In 2017, the Province of Ontario officially recognized June as Ontario Bike Month. To help celebrate locally, the Sudbury Cyclist Union will host a community bike ride with Greater Sudbury Mayor Brian Bigger.

Residents are invited to join on Thursday, June 28 at 6:30 p.m. to meet fellow cyclists and explore some of the new cycling infrastructure recently installed in our community. Participants are asked to meet in the CP parking lot on Elgin Street at 6:30 p.m. Parking is free after 6 p.m.

The ride will provide participants with tips on how to ride their bike safely on a variety of cycling infrastructure and highlight the navigation of pedestrian crossovers, crosswalks, intersections and more. The 12 km ride will begin downtown, and continue through Bell Park, to the South End and back.  It is expected to take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours to complete the ride, which is suitable for people with some cycling experience.
