Voting for Mayor and Council
Greater Sudbury City Council is the decision-making body for the City of Greater Sudbury. Council’s decisions guide how municipal services are delivered to residents and shape the future of our community.
During a municipal election, voters elect:
- One Mayor, who represents the City as a whole
- Twelve Councillors, each representing one ward (geographic area) of the community
Who Can Vote and Where
Eligible electors can vote only once and only for the ward where they live.
If an eligible elector owns or rents property in another ward, they cannot choose to vote in that ward instead.
Non-resident electors who own or rent properties in more than one ward must select one ward to vote in.
