Is Accessible Voting available?

The City of Greater Sudbury is committed to providing an accessible election for all voters and is taking steps to remove barriers that may prevent voters from exercising their right to vote.

During the 2026 Municipal and School Board Elections, we will offer several accessible voting options, including:

  • Internet voting: You don’t even have to leave your home to vote using this method.  Simply log on to a computer, register with the credentials provided in your Voter Information Letter, and vote!

The system is AODA and WCAG2.2 compliant and offers the following features:

  • Screen readers, keyboard navigation, and text magnification
  • VoiceOver and TalkBack on mobile devices
  • Multiple languages including English and French
  • Accessible video tutorials and plain language instructions

  • Vote anywhere: With Vote Anywhere, you can choose the Voting Location that is most convenient for you.
  • Proxy voting: If you are unable to attend a voting location in person, you have the option of appointing a Proxy to vote on your behalf.
