Multi-Year Accessibility Plan
The City’s Multi-Year Accessibility Plan (MYAP) is a requirement under the Accessibility for Ontario with disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA). It is a five-year plan to identify, remove, and prevent accessibility barriers across the organization by committing to specific initiatives and outcomes aimed at making sure that people with disabilities can participate in the City’s programs, services, facilities, public spaces, information and communication, and employment. Each year, a status report on the progress of measures taken to implement the multi-year accessibility plan will be prepared and posted publicly. The Accessibility Plan will be reviewed and updated at least once every five years.
The City of Greater Sudbury maintains policies on how it shall meet AODA requirement and will provide policies in an accessible format upon request.
The Multi-Year Accessibility Plan creates a road map which all divisions can follow in implementing the requirements of the AODA.
