Booking Outdoor Recreation Activities in a City Park
City of Greater Sudbury parks and greenspaces are available for all to enjoy. Groups and individuals planning to access public parks for informal or causal use do not require a facility use permit.
If you want to use our park spaces for organized recreation activities, whether you charge a fee or not, you must have a facility use permit. These activities could include:
- Fitness classes
- Bootcamps
- Open water swimming lessons or practices
- Yoga classes
- Martial arts
- And more
The purpose of this booking system is to ensure private fitness classes taking place on City property are properly insured, and that individuals conducting private fitness classes are certified to instruct. Having a facility use permit also ensures exclusive use of a designated space during permitted times.
Fees for outdoor recreation activities are available hourly or seasonally from May to October (Maximum of three classes per week).
As part of the facility booking, the City of Greater Sudbury requires the following:
- A certificate of insurance naming the City of Greater Sudbury as additional insured, with minimum liability insurance coverage of $2,000,000
- Proof of instructor certification
- Proof of first aid and CPR training
