The City of Greater Sudbury is committed to providing safe drinking water to the consumers that complies with all applicable legislation and regulations, while continuing to improve and maintain the Quality Management System.

This commitment is fulfilled through the implementation and continual improvement of a Drinking Water Quality Management System (DWQMS) that meets the requirements of the Ontario Drinking Water Quality Management Standard.

CGS is committed to:

  • Protecting public health by ensuring the consistent supply of safe drinking water.
  • Complying with all applicable legislation and regulations governing drinking water systems in Ontario.
  • Maintaining and continually improving the DWQMS through regular review, audits, and updates.
  • Communicating effectively with stakeholders, including regulators, customers, and municipal officials.
  • Documenting procedures to ensure transparency, accountability, and traceability in all aspects of water system management.
