GOVA Bus Stop Improvements (QR Code)

GOVA Bus Stop Improvements (QR Code)

GOVA Transit is continually working to improve the customer experience at all approximately 1,090 City bus stops.

The City worked with the Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB) and the Accessibility Advisory Panel to create a standard for colours, size and look for our stops with the aim to improve access to service for residents with vision impairment.

Bus stop numbers are larger, and each stop has a QR code directing passengers to the My Bus app (allowing you to track buses in real time), a trip planner, route maps, schedules, and other GOVA information. You can also use the QR code to view advisories that may affect their travel, such as detours or service updates.

The QR code is another tool to assist you, in addition to calling 311 or visiting the Transit kiosk with questions or info.

This effort is built with service excellence in mind and helps our effort to build ridership through innovative system improvements that meet your needs. The project is supported by funding through the Public Transit Stream of the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program (ICIP) and annual operating budgets
