Will I be expected to use the AED?

No. Riders are not required to use an AED. However, because every minute matters during cardiac arrest, bystanders are strongly encouraged to act if they feel comfortable doing so. The AED is designed to provide step-by-step instructions to help guide you through its use.

If someone is experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 immediately and follow the instructions provided by the emergency dispatcher.
