Preparing your household hazardous waste for drop-off or collection

Instructions for dropping off household hazardous waste at the Depot:

  • All waste must be clearly labelled and in sealed containers with secured lids. Containers will not be returned to you.
  • Remember to secure your load and check for leaks.
  • Do not mix different products together.
  • Use the original container, where possible.
  • Syringes must be in a puncture-proof container.
  • Please separate waste by type (i.e. oil with oil, paints with paints, etc.) to allow for ease of identification, handling and unloading by staff.
  • Vehicles will be unloaded by trained staff on site.

  • All waste must be clearly labelled and in sealed containers with secured lids. Containers will not be returned to you.
  • Do not mix different products together.
  • Use the original container, where possible.
  • Syringes must be in a puncture-proof container.
  • Please separate waste by type (i.e. oil with oil, paints with paints, etc.) to allow for ease of identification, handling and loading by staff.
  • Materials will be loaded into the Toxic Taxi by trained staff.
  • Place the waste items by your door (not at the roadside) no earlier than 8 a.m. on the morning of your scheduled Toxic Taxi collection. You must be home at the time of collection and available to answer questions as needed.
