This station is staffed by volunteer firefighters. Volunteer firefighters don’t reside in the station. They are notified of emergency calls at their homes or workplaces and report to the station before responding. All firefighters are trained according to current regulations and Council-approved service levels.

Future Plans

Staff have been directed to renovate the Val Therese station, with costs included in the 2024-2027 capital budget. Once completed, Hanmer station can be consolidated into the Val Therese station.
