Greater Sudbury Public Library Launches Promotional Campaign

Dec 6, 2021

Greater Sudbury Public Library (GSPL) will be launching a promotional campaign in December featuring two key messages through digital advertising. The intent of the campaign is to highlight recent additions to library services and collections and to remind residents that libraries not only provide information and entertainment in physical and digital formats, but that we can help you get connected to the Internet at the same time.

“GSPL recognizes that not everyone has what they need to fully engage in our digital offerings, such as e-books, audiobooks, and streaming movies,” said Michael Bellmore, Chair of the Greater Sudbury Public Library Board. “To people without Internet access, we want to tell them: We got you. You can borrow the Internet from the library, too.”

Background on the key messages can be found below:

Need a reason to stay in? We got you. Free digital books, movies, and more. The number of digital books, movies, and music continues to expand at the Greater Sudbury Public Library. Residents now have more items to choose from and multiple platforms to explore: eBooks and audiobooks through cloudLibrary; books, movies and music through Hoopla; educational courses through LinkedIn Learning; digital magazines through cloudLibrary NewsStand; and much more.

Can’t get connected? We got you. Wi-Fi Hotspot Lending. Wi-Fi hotspots are available for lending to help residents gain access to the Internet. A hotspot is a small device that provides Internet access to Wi-Fi-enabled devices. These portable devices can be checked out for one week at a time. Due to high demand, devices may not be available for same-day pickup. Residents are encouraged to place a hold and will receive a notification once it is available.

This promotional campaign will make use of digital advertising venues throughout the City of Greater Sudbury starting December 6, 2021. More information about these services and this campaign can be found at www.sudburylibraries.ca.
