City Collaborates with Canadian Armed Forces for Emergency Preparedness Training

Aug 17, 2016

The City of Greater Sudbury is pleased to welcome members of the Canadian Armed Forces to Greater Sudbury for training and a joint emergency exercise taking place in our community.

Canadian Armed Forces personnel are in Sudbury this week for a training and education module which will end on Saturday, August 20. The emergency tabletop exercise will start on Sunday, August 21 and go until Wednesday, August 24. The exercise aims to support the Canadian Armed Forces, the City, and partner stakeholders, to coordinate operations and learn from one another for better preparedness in the event of a municipal emergency.

The emergency exercise, titled “Stalwart Responder,” will see the Canadian Armed Forces and City collaborate in operational planning and response in support of a large scale municipal emergency.
