The Market 2015 Call for Entertainers

The Market returns to the CP/VIA Rail Station for another season of homegrown, handcrafted and hand-picked products. 

For 2015, The Market is looking to host entertainment and programming options that will build on an atmosphere of seasonal abundance and community. Entertainers of all are disciplines are encouraged to apply.

The 2015 Market season runs from June 27 through to October 25 and opening hours are Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Entertainment must be appropriate for family audiences. 

The City of Greater Sudbury will assist with the promotion of The Market programming. Outdoor staging, electricity, seating and booth arrangements are available. Specific programming equipment must be supplied and set up at the expense of the participant. 

The selection of the programming is based on available space and dates and is done at the discretion of The Market staff. Honorariums may also be provided. In the event of inclement weather, programming may be cancelled.

Decisions about The Market programming and operations are made collaboratively by City Council, staff and the Greater Sudbury Downtown New Market Working Group. The mandate of the Greater Sudbury New Downtown Market Working Group is: to provide advice and recommendations to Council and staff through the Community Services Committee on matters related to the operation and management of the City of Greater Sudbury’s public market, in accordance with article 48 of By-law 2011-235, the City’s Council Procedure By-law.
