Family Day Municipal Service Schedule and Reduced Rates for Leisure Programs

The City of Greater Sudbury would like to advise residents of the following municipal service schedule on the Family Day holiday, Monday, February 16, 2015:

•    Tom Davies Square will be closed,

•    Citizen Service Centres and libraries will be closed,

•    Greater Sudbury Transit buses will operate on a Sunday schedule,

•    Greater Sudbury landfills, recycling centre, garbage and recycling collection are unaffected by the holiday.

Certain leisure facilities will be open on Family Day. If the activity you are looking for is not listed below, please call the facility directly to inquire about services.

Family Day reduced rates for ski hills (all rates include HST):

Adanac Ski Hill:

Junior Half Day: $10.00

Junior Full Day: $12.00

Student/Senior Half Day: $11.00

Student/Senior Full Day: $13.00

Adult Half Day: $12.00

Adult Full Day: $16.00 

Capreol and Lively Ski Hills:

Full Day (all users): $5.50

The ski hills will offer reduced rates for skiing and snowboarding between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. (weather permitting).

Family Day reduced rates for public swimming (all rates include HST):

Adults: $2.25

Child/Seniors: $1.75

Family (maximum of six people per family): $5.50

Public swim times have been scheduled for Family Day as follows:

Gatchell Pool Family Swim: 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Nickel District Pool Family Swim: 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Onaping Pool Family Swim: 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

R. G. Dow Pool Family Swim: 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Howard Armstrong Recreation Centre Family Swim: 1:00 p.m. to 2:25 p.m. - Public Swim: 2:30 p.m. to 3:55 p.m.

Family Day reduced rate for public skating at all municipal arenas (rates include HST):

Adults: $2.25

Youth: $1.75

Family (maximum of six people per family): $4.75   

Public skate schedules and events for Family Day are as follows:

Cambrian Arena: 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Capreol Community Centre/Arena #2 Ice Pad: The Capreol Lions Club is hosting a free community skate with free hot chocolate from 3:45 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.  Everyone is welcome!

Carmichael Arena: 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Centennial Community Centre/Arena: 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Dr. Edgar Leclair Community Centre/Arena: 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Garson Community Centre/Arena: 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Gerry McCrory Countryside Sports Complex #1 Ice Pad: 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. 

I.J. Coady Memorial Arena: 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

McClelland Community Centre/Arena: 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Raymond Plourde Arena: 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Sudbury Community Arena: Enjoy a free family skate hosted by RBC at the Sudbury Arena from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Meet 2014 RBC Sochi Olympic Champion Brad Jacobs, skip of the men’s gold medal curling team.  

T.M. Davies Community Centre/Arena: 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Toe Blake Memorial Arena: 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Ramsey Lake Skate Path, Queen's Athletic Skating Oval and local neighbourhood outdoor rinks will also be open, weather permitting.
