Remote Work Program
The City of Greater Sudbury (CGS) has a Remote Work Program that allows an employee to fulfil their regular job responsibilities from a remote office that is as productive as it is within a CGS work location. This policy is applicable when the Employer deems that a position is eligible to work remotely and the employee in the position applies and is approved to participate in the program. If a position is eligible to work remotely on a part-time or full-time basis, this will be indicated on the employment opportunity.
For working remotely on a part-time basis, employees are expected to report to the office 1-4 days per week.
For working remotely on a full-time basis, employees are expected to report to the office when needed, and as required by a supervisor, but typically not less than 2 days per month.
Employees working remotely must report to the CGS work location as operationally required (team meetings, committee meetings, training, etc.).
In order to work remotely, the employee will need to provide (at their own expense):
- High-speed internet connection, with data port at the workstation;
- Internet router (if required);
- Office equipment that meets ergonomic specifications, including desk and chair suitability;
- A dedicated and appropriate defined workplace in which business will be conducted to ensure privacy and confidentiality.
