2018 Budget
City of Greater Sudbury Council approved the 2018 Budget on December 12, 2017. Approval followed two nights of deliberations by the Finance and Administration Committee on December 5 and 6, 2017.
Several changes were made to the proposed budget in order to approve a budget with a 3 per cent tax increase and 7.4 per cent water/wastewater rate increase.
For a typical home assessed at $230,000 the 3 per cent tax increase is equivalent to an increase of approximately $87 more than 2017 taxes, or an additional $7.25 monthly. The 7.4 per cent water/wastewater user rate increase is in accordance with the financial plan for Water/Wastewater and will ensure fiscal sustainability of the service.
