Information Session for Residents Affected by April 2026 Flooding

Greater Sudbury residents in designated flood-affected areas who experienced flooding in April 2026 are invited to attend a virtual information session about the Province of Ontario's Disaster Recovery Assistance for Ontarians (DRAO) program.

The virtual session, hosted by the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, takes place Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at 6 p.m. It will provide information about the DRAO program, including eligibility requirements, how to apply, required documentation, the review process and available supports. A question-and-answer period will follow the presentation.

The DRAO program activation applies to flood damage caused by overflowing lakes, rivers or creeks in the following Greater Sudbury areas:

•    Chelmsford
•    Coniston
•    Dowling
•    Flake subdivision
•    Larchmont Drive
•    McCharles Lake
•    Simon Lake

Residents are encouraged to review the map at www.ontario.ca/disasterassistance to verify that their property is located within the activation area before registering. 

Registration is required to attend the session. Residents can register at https://forms.cloud.microsoft/r/sNPiLCg5jt?origin=lprLink. The registration deadline is 4 p.m. on October 14.

Once registration has been reviewed and confirmed, participants will receive a confirmation email, and instructions for joining the Microsoft Teams session will be provided before the event.
