Potential Work Stoppage Wednesday, August 9, 2023

The bargaining teams for the City of Greater Sudbury and the CUPE 4705 Outside Unit are meeting today, August 8. This meeting, like all previous negotiation meetings, is designed to produce a resolution to any issues that remain outstanding and achieve a negotiated settlement.

If an acceptable agreement is not immediately possible, the outside unit will be in a legal work stoppage position effective 12:01 a.m. on Wednesday, August 9.

The City is prepared to continue all critical and legislated municipal services. If a strike occurs, residents should be prepared for changes to municipal services while the strike is underway. Full details will be shared later today if an agreement is not reached.
