Paramedic Week 2023: Diversity in Paramedicine

May 23, 2023

May 21 to 27, 2023 marks Paramedic Week across Canada, a time to show our appreciation for the hard work and contributions of paramedics in our community.

“This year’s theme for Paramedic Week is Diversity in Paramedicine - The Patient. The Provider. The Profession, which highlights the dynamic and innovative programs, people and knowledge in the field of paramedicine,” said Greater Sudbury Mayor Paul Lefebvre. “I thank our Paramedic Services team for continuing to adapt to our community’s ever-changing needs and providing our community with the best possible pre-hospital care.”

A formal recognition and proclamation took place at the Lionel E. Lalonde Centre in Azilda on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, to celebrate the exceptional work and expertise of Advanced Care Paramedics, Primary Care Paramedics, Emergency Vehicle Technicians, Community Paramedics, Trainers, Logistics staff, Schedulers, Quality Improvement Team and Platoon Superintendents.

As part of this year’s event, 14 new paramedic recruits were recognized for completing their orientation and welcomed to the service.
