Mayor Bigger Shares an Inspirational Poem

Apr 8, 2020

I wanted to share some positive news that was brought to my attention today. Last week a grade 5 student, Carter Mann had written a poem to inspire his dad and to be strong. His father, Don is an Advanced Care Paramedic who has been with our service more than 25 years. The poem has since received a lot of attention being featured in the Sudbury Star and just this week Carter read his poem on the CTV news at 11:00 pm with Lisa Laflamme.

Covid be gone in the depths of dawn.

May we rise to be infection free.

The isolated days so many are feeling, our minds sit in darkness and are in need
 of healing.

Our leaders work tirelessly to bring us comfort.

As the death toll rises we grieve with such loss, distancing from loved ones we
carry our cross.

The days seem endless with so full of despair.

Where is the light, with no end in sight.
