Important Information about 2020 Property Taxes

The City of Greater Sudbury is helping residents navigate the COVID-19 situation by providing a further extension of the second due date for interim property taxes. 

Penalties and interest on late payments will not be charged if amounts owed for the April 2, 2020, interim property tax deadline are paid by July 2. The original extension was to June 4. 

“I’m pleased to offer residents this option for the 2020 interim tax bill,” said Greater Sudbury Mayor Brian Bigger. “In providing this extension for residents, I hope to help reduce additional stress and bring some peace of mind for those who may be experiencing financial strain during this unprecedented time.”

The deadline for final 2020 property taxes is anticipated to be delayed until early fall. The revised schedule is being determined and will be shared at a later date. 

Property owners enrolled in the pre-authorized tax payment plan who feel they may have difficulty meeting the payment can call 705-674-4455, extension 2601 to review available options.
