Countdown to 2018 Municipal and School Board Election Begins

With the 2018 Municipal and School Board Election quickly approaching, an Election Bus has started travelling the streets of Greater Sudbury. 

The Election Bus will serve as a visual reminder to residents to voice their choice in the upcoming election. It will follow regular transit routes and display important election information. 

During the voting period, which will run from Monday October 15, 2018, to Monday, October 22, 2018, eligible voters will have the opportunity to vote online anywhere, anytime from their smartphone, tablet or computer. Voters who would like assistance casting their electronic ballot may attend a Voter Help Centre during the entire voting period, or attend an Electronic Voting Location on Election Day, October 22, 2018.

Quick Facts

  • Election Day is Monday, October 22, 2018. Electronic Voting Locations will be open throughout the city on Election Day. 
  • The voting period runs from Monday, October 15, 2018 to Monday, October 22, 2018, during which residents will vote for a Mayor, 12 Councillors and their designated School Board Trustees.
  • The candidate nomination period begins Tuesday, May 1, 2018. The deadline to file a nomination is Friday, July 27, 2018 at 2:00 p.m.
