Fall Produce and Fresh Basil Available at The Market This Weekend!

Sep 15, 2016

As the saying goes, it’s out with the old and in with the new at The Market this weekend. We are steadily getting fresh local fall favourites like apples, tomatoes and squash. They are perfect bases for sauces, compotes and other hearty dishes to enjoy on a cool fall evening.

We also have bunches of fresh basil that will add a burst of flavour to any dish! Combine with fresh garlic and olive oil to make the perfect pesto sauce.

Welcoming the new produce means that’s it’s time to say goodbye to some of our seasonal favourites. This weekend will be the last weekend local sweet corn will be available. Be sure to grab some before it’s too late. Remember: corn can be frozen on the cob to keep its freshness locked in.

The Market is your destination for fresh air and fresh food this season. Enjoy live entertainment, fresh local produce, unique gift ideas and much more. The Market is located next to the CP/Via Rail Station at 233 Elgin St. in downtown Sudbury, and is open every weekend rain or shine, Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
