Residents Invited to Provide Feedback on Official Plan Amendment Relating to Nodes and Corridors Strategy

Mar 11, 2024

The City of Greater Sudbury is undertaking public consultation on a draft Official Plan Amendment related to Phase Two of the Nodes and Corridors Strategy.

The proposed amendment includes changes that focus high and medium density land uses, such as multi-residential and mixed-use buildings, to the city’s main arterial roads, and lower residential densities to nearby neighbourhoods. It will ensure future investments complement transit and active transportation strategies and help achieve compact, complete communities.

To get involved residents are invited to:

  • Fill out a questionnaire at overtoyougreatersudbury.ca
  • Attend an open house:
    • In person from 1 to 3 p.m. on March 20, 2024 at Tom Davies Square, 200 Brady Street, Room C-13A
    • Virtually at 6 p.m. on March 21, 2024 via Zoom at greatersudbury.ca/OP

The Nodes and Corridors Strategy was adopted in September 2016 to help revitalize and better connect our downtown, the town centres, strategic core areas and corridors of the city. The strategy will help knit together land use, zoning, urban design and transportation planning to create a greater sense of place and to design a more complete street conducive to travel by multiple modes.
