Reminder: City has sand and sandbags available for those experiencing or at risk of property flooding

With rain expected to continue throughout the weekend, Greater Sudbury residents who are experiencing or at risk of flooding on their property are reminded that the City will supply sand and sandbags to those who request them.

Residents can visit one of the five public works depots to discuss their specific needs and receive sandbags. Sand is available for residents who need it. Residents are required to fill the provided bags themselves, and are reminded to use correct posture and lift heavy sandbags with care. Residents may also fill an unlimited number of their own bags with the sand provided at the depots. Sandbags are available for purchase at a number of local retailers.

Residents should call 311 for information on the closest depot that has supplies available and staff on hand to provide bags.
