Modified Housing Units Available Throughout Greater Sudbury

May 6, 2024

Modified community housing units are available within Greater Sudbury for both residents on the Housing Services centralized wait list and market renters.

Modified units are geared toward individuals who require accommodations related to their mobility. The units can include adjustments such as lower counters, wider doors and universal showers. Community housing providers are offering modified units in the Downtown, Flour Mill, South End, Val Caron, Hanmer, Garson, Minnow Lake, Azilda, Lively and Chelmsford areas.

Individuals can apply for modified units online. Those applying for the first time can go to https://www.greatersudbury.ca/socialhousingapplication and follow the prompts to create a new account. A valid email address is required to create an account. You can pick up a paper copy of the application in the lobby or on the sixth floor of 199 Larch St.

Those who have an existing application for community housing will have received a letter in October 2020 with a registration code and details on how to create an account. You can also get your registration code by calling 705-674-4455, extension 4678.

All applications for modified units will be reviewed to ensure they are eligible to be included on the modified unit wait list.
