In April 2024, Greater Sudbury City Council approved plans to proceed with the development of a new Event Centre downtown. Construction is now underway, and the countdown to opening has begun!
This state-of-the-art facility will be a premier destination for concerts, sporting events, community gatherings and other unforgettable experiences in Northern Ontario. Residents and visitors alike will enjoy a vibrant, dynamic new community space in the heart of downtown.

This project is for everyone, and we want to share the process with you. See below a list of milestones leading to our expected completion day in Fall of 2028.

A Piece of History
We know how much the history and familiarity of the Sudbury Community Arena means to our community. The team behind the Event Centre will be looking for ways to bring the spirit and memories of the Sudbury Community Arena into the new space.
