The Greater Sudbury Public Library Board of Directors is accepting applications for three volunteer positions.

As part of Stage 3 of the Province’s COVID-19 restart plans, the City of Greater Sudbury will partially reopen Gerry McCrory Countryside Sports Complex on Monday, August 3.

The Ellis Reservoir, the main water reservoir for the City of Greater Sudbury, is due for a regular scheduled inspection. Work will be completed in several stages, beginning this week.

Final property tax bills will be mailed in early August with due dates of September 1 and October 1, 2020. Due dates for the final tax bills were approved by City Council at the July 7 meeting.

A new splash pad officially opens this Friday, July 24 at the Twin Forks playground.

Today we are one of the fortunate communities in Ontario entering Phase 3 of the COVID re-entry plan.

As the Province’s COVID-19 restart plans continue to move forward, the City of Greater Sudbury has been identified as one of the regions permitted to move into Stage 3, as of 12:01 a.m. on Friday, July 17. This stage permits the safe reopening of additional municipal amenities and the majority of private businesses.

Effective Monday, July 13, the City of Greater Sudbury will reopen Tom Davies Square to the public. The facility has been closed since mid-March, in line with other COVID-19 closures, with limited services available by appointment only.

In accordance with instructions by Public Health Sudbury & Districts, residents will be required to wear a face covering or non-medical mask when visiting any indoor City facility or when using GOVA Transit, effective Wednesday, July 8, 2020.

Dennie Street at Ormsby Avenue in Capreol is now open after being closed due to flooding from the storm this evening.

As the extended heat warning continues, the City of Greater Sudbury will be using four transit buses as temporary cooling stations throughout the community.

An extended heat warning issued by Environment Canada has activated the municipal Hot Weather Response Plan.

The heat warning, which began Tuesday, June 30, 2020, is being extended given the hot, humid weather in the forecast.
