Leadership Camps
Counsellor-in-Training (CIT) Program
For teens who have enjoyed the camper experience and are now looking to further develop their leadership abilities, start building skills for part-time jobs or just wish to experience camps in a new way can try our Leader-In-Training or Counsellor-in-Training program. The experience will begin with a formal interview and conclude with an exit evaluation.
Participants will gain valuable theoretical and practical experience with leadership, planning, organizing, and environmental awareness skills.
Youth can apply to be a Counsellor-In-Training for a four-week session at Camp Sudaca.
Leader-in-Training Program
Teens who wish to remain active in the Neighbourhood Playground program can gain valuable leadership skills during this four-week program. The program includes workshop training to gain communication, leadership and program planning skills, training sessions with the City of Greater Sudbury Summer Camps Counsellors-in-Training, combined with on-site supervised placement at a neighbourhood playground.
Youth can register to be a Leader-In-Training at one of our playground program sites for a four-week session.
Ages: 13 to 16 years
Time: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
