Creative Arts Camp

We practice sun safety logo.

This camp explores the fascinating world of visual and performing arts. Through art, dance and drama, our instructor will spark your child’s imagination and encourage their creativity.

This camp offers Program A and Program B, repeating throughout the summer, so campers are able to attend for two weeks without repletion of art projects. Campers will participate on a nature hike, a day at the beach and either a visit to a local art/performing studio or on alternating weeks, campers will host an art show.

Register Online, at your nearest Citizen Service Centre or dial 311.

Creative Arts Camp at Howard Armstrong Recreation Centre is cancelled.

Arts and Crafts

Arts and crafts projects will teach campers how to transform ordinary materials into extraordinary works of art.

Campers will work with a variety of materials that may include: paper, cardboard, denim, wood, concrete, canvas, glass, nature, t-shirt, etc.

Projects may include: constructing a stretched canvas frame, garden art, waxworks, sculpting, edible art, Keith Haring inspired projects, rock n’ resin, beautiful buttons, outstanding ornaments, eclectic jewelry and many more. Youth must be able to follow instructions to safely use a hammer and low voltage glue gun.

Drama teaches teamwork and consideration of others, while developing confidence and self esteem. Campers will get an afternoon of drama and find confidence in the spotlight!

Using their body, voice and imagination, young performers may explore: role playing, voice awareness, storytelling and character creation.

Dance inspired exercises and techniques will increase joint mobility, balance, strength and flexibility. This afternoon lesson will mix technique and skill building with opportunities for creative freedom and self-expression in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. No dance experience necessary.
