Registration for swim programs opens March 3, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. Residents can register online at https://www.greatersudbury.ca/play/programs-and-activities/, call the facility directly or call 311.

Swimming Lessons for all ages will be available at all City of Greater Sudbury pools (R.G Dow, Gatchell, Nickel District, Howard Armstrong Recreation Centre, Onaping). Lessons begin March 15, 2021 and run for seven weeks.

In line with COVID-19 safety guidelines outlined by the Lifesaving Society of Ontario, swimming lessons will be shorter in duration and group sizes will be smaller. Also, a parent or guardian will be required to participate in swimming lessons with children in levels Preschool 1 to Swimmer 3. Safety guidelines and protocols are in place at each of the City’s pools. For more information, visit https://www.greatersudbury.ca/play/pools/pdf/pool-covid-19-guideline/.

There’s a new way to register for leisure programs or book a facility. It’s easy to create an account! If you need help getting started, click here for our Frequently Asked Questions.

The French interface of our new registration system is still under development, however it is important that the City goes live with the new system as the existing registration and facility booking system is no longer supported by the vendor. Residents can still receive this service in French by calling 311 to have a French-speaking operator process bookings or registrations. The French interface will be launched in time for the fall/winter registration period.
